Learning Discovery Program at TH IT

Taylor’s College selected TH IT Resource Centre Sdn Bhd as the platform for their Learning Discovery Program

TH IT is proud to be selected by Taylor's College for the discovery learning program. The program which was held on 15 March 2012, joined by 38 students of Pre University SAM Program together with the teacher advisor, Ms. Yap is very meaningful to us. It was considered important as this is the second time our company received visit among student. We are very happy and pleased to welcome them. Even our managing director himself, Mr. Lee Te Hua did not hesitate to join along the day.

Eight student had been chosen to take care of the section which includes Work Schedule, Rental Asset Management, Accounting Software (MYOB), Human Resources Management, Accounting System, Term Loan and Overdraft, Hire purchase and Leasing, and Marketing. They played roles as the facilitator whereby students will take turn to listen to every session. They were so lucky compared to others as Mr. Lee Te Hua himself brief about the company a day before the program.

TH IT at Canon Photo Marathon, Penang 2010

In August 2010, TH IT and its team have the pleasure to be selected as the IT, software and hardware supplier for one of the grand events in Malaysia - the Canon Photo Marathon 2010 held in Penang.


TH IT and its team came out as the winner after a tough competition with the other bidder base on the better photo uploading proposal in terms on the software proposal and hardware proposal. The idea was to have a smooth running set up to speed up the photo uploading process.

Our proposal won mainly due to the fact that TH IT is well equipped with plenty of latest stock on computer, server, networking equipment, a strong team of software engineer and a strong team of event management partner.

The event

The event was held at Marina Square Penang and we supplied 100 units of HP PC with minimum spec dual core and two HP DL380 server.

New software was specially develop for the uploading of the competitors photos. Judges are given their own computers to download and view the photos. Each pc was installed with a memory card reader.

Gigabit networking was installed to make sure the data transfer is as fast as possible.

National Indian Youth Convention rented from TH IT

The National Indian Youth Convention was held recently on 3 Jul 2010 for a group of about 500 participants at the Grand Dorsett Hotel Subang Jaya.

NYIC 2010 is organised by TheMind (Malaysian Indian Educational Development Association) a local NGO, specializing in education matters for the Indian community in Malaysia. It has strategic links with academic experts and industry captains within and outside the country.

TH IT at its IT committee member's request, is entrusted to set up the presentation aids for the event. Our mission is to set up 2 units of 9' x 12' (3m x 4m) screens and 2 units 4000 Ansi lumens projectors. 


Our standard procedure calls for setting up 1 day earlier however due to the ballroom is occupied for dinner on the night before, set up can only be arranged after 1 am in the morning. Our dedicated staff Din and Fazleen both carried out the job well. My heartiest thanks and appreciation to both of them.

We are glad to say that everything was set up properly and all customer's last minute request is dealt with properly.

CIB Net Station - Online game promo

Online games promotion by CIB Mall

Our rental services are now extended to online game promotion roadshow. Most recent event are 2 rental promotion by CIB Mall at PC Fair and Berjaya Time Square.

Delivery and collection at KLCC during PC Fair:

Due to the massive logistic workload to deliver and collect from KLCC during the fair, the delivery and collection process is not a quick task! Thanks to KLCC management's systematic approach, all lorries have to queue at the open car park outside of KLCC loading bay and registered first. When called, then only we can proceed to enter the loading bay!

Delivery and collection at Berjaya Times Square:

Due to shopping complex's cargo loading requirement, delivery of computers can only be arranged midnight! For this job, our technical team actually deliver at 6 am and collect back at 8.30 pm.

MTV World Stage live in Malaysia

From 10 Aug 09 to 16 Aug 09 we did a new job for MTV Asia again. Last year we did it in Genting and this year they chose Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.

Well this time the venue is very near to our office/warehouse in USJ 1, I told myself we should be able to do a much better job than before!

This time the event is near the surf beach and production area is in the cafetaria next to the first aid room whereas press area is in Percola B.

For this time, since we have the new Ricoh MPC4000, our customer is more than happy to take the 2 multifunction color laser quality copier from us, instead of taking from different parties. More over our rate is cheaper!

List of equipment they rented this time:

6 pc, 4 nb, 2x full set multi function copier MPC4000 complete with finisher, 1x 4015dn (55 ppm b/w laserjet printer), 1x 2605dn (12 ppm color laser jet printer), networking and wifi connection, plus even the paper we can supply as well! We are becoming more 1 stop!

Preliminary Setup

Sunway Lagoon's IT manager, Mr. James is very kind and helpful to see that we could finished the network cabling earlier without much disruption on the day setting up. I did a site visit a few days earlier and drafted out a good plan to install the network cable from Sunway's Cisco router switch to both the production area and the Percola B (the media area). The most difficult part for this job is obviously to run a cable underneath a drain which is fully covered and the length is about 30 feet. One end of it is covered with a grilled, hinged cover but the other end is cover with thick, heavy slab!

On 7 Aug 09 morning about 7 am, four of us, YF, Azmi, Wan and myself gathered at Restaurant Sri Bidara, have our breakfast there. Long time I did not visit this restaurant already, I still remember I used to buy catered food from this restaurant for lunch for training room rental customer.

8 am, we were at the security gate sharp and so was Mr. Chan of Sunway Lagoon, the IT executive for James. We splitted into two groups, me and Yf; Azmi and Wan. Me and YF took care of the drain and Azmy and Wan took care of the production house.

Thanks to the site visit and the preparation, we brought all the necessary tools and materials required to installed the cable through the drain. For this we use 3x 1/2 inch PVC pipes measuring 6 feet to 12 feet, PVC pipe glue, 1x 3 feet iron rod, 1x brick, 1 roll of thick iron wire. First we estimated the cable length and run them through the pipes first, then after we push the PVC pipe under and into the drain.

PVC pipe glue was used to glue and join different section of the pipe together. With this we move the lan cable into the drain easily!

Second difficult task is we have to dig out the heavy slab on the other end. There are only two short tiny slots on the slab. We made a ingenius hook by using a spanner, a short length of the thick iron wire and we got them twisted together! After inserted the spanner in, we managed to dig out the heavy slab without much problem.

Set up day on 10 Aug 09:

Again four of us gathered in the morning and deliver sharp at 9 am to Sunway Lagoon Resort. After we have unloaded everything and waited for all the equipment to be set up, we tested the lan lines were working fine eventually. Customer needed 4 Mbps for the line speed in order for them to do live transmission. Eventually we tested all the lines to have between 3.7 to 3.9 Mbps download and upload speed.

Technical standby through out:

Din is assigned to standby for the whole event from 10 Aug 09 to 15 Aug 09.

17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Minister

The 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (17CCEM) takes place from 15-19 June in Kuala Lumpur and it is also the 50th aniversary this year. The conference was held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and the theme for this year is:

‘Education in the Commonwealth: Towards and Beyond Global Goals and Targets’.

TH IT is pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this international event by renting to the centre the following list of equipment:

Ricoh MPC4000 full functions color laser jet printing complete with finisher - 1 unit
Ricoh MPC4000 full functions b/w printing - 1 unit
Desktop computer - 25 units
Printer - 5 units
Fax - 1 unit

Our new Ricoh MPC4000 have done us a very good job, during the conference period they have helped our customer printed 96,449 pages of black and white print out and 2,273 pages of colour print!

The copier's finisher helped to staple and sort out print out automatically and thereby reduced time and labour to manage this huge print volume during this 5 days period!

Once again this job proved TH IT's commitment to our customer to provide the best and good quality equipment and service!

4th and 5th training event with M4300

Thanks to our customer's continue support, we have rented out our M4300 to our valued customer for the 4th and 5th time to conduct their Puma Flow training.

These two events took place in Renaisance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur this time and training were conducted on 18 May 09 to 22 May 09 and 25 May 09 to 29 May 09.

As this is not the first and second time the Precision laptop is required, everything runs very smoothly. We have trained up Din to perform the Red Hat Linux Enterprise 4 installation, and training company's engineer, Ms. Rabia came to our office on 15 May 09 to set up their software.

She completed her set up in time and we delivered the notebooks to Renaisance Hotel on 18 May 09 7.30 am. Thanks to Yih Farn who made the on time delivery and set up.

All the notebooks were locked with the Kessinger lock we provided and we like to express our deepest appreciation to the hotel's staff and security for allowing us to leave all the notebooks overnight in the function room and took good care of the notebooks.

After the first week's training, we collected back all the notebooks on Friday evening and redelivered them on 25 May morning 7.30 am. Again a very good job done by Yih Farn.

On 29 May 09 evening, we collected back all of them and this ends the fifth time of rental.

For beginning in Apr 09, we have signed up a least agreement with Ricoh Malaysia for 2 units of RICOH MPC 4000. These two unit of copiers are brand new and I would say they are very high performance and heavy duty model.

This shows also how strong we are back up by Ricoh!

Jelajah Malaysia 2009 rents from TH IT

TH IT is very proud to be selected as the IT vendor for the famous international event - Jelajah Malaysia 2009. The cross Malaysia cycle racing event that started since 2007.


This year's event has attracted even more countries to participate and there are altogether 126 teams to compete. Hence the organiser has also increased the number of equipment required for secretariat, media centre and result bus.
